Help me meet my goal
I'm raising money to make a difference in the lives of girls in Nairobi, Kenya.
The Kariokor Adult Center is home to around 10 girls at a time who have been rescued from child bride marriages and other abuse. The girls range in age from 13- to 18-years-old. The Center is overseen by Mrs. Angelica Okyweya Nandwa and her family.
At Kariokor, each girl’s welfare, dignity, and future is taken into highest consideration. It is Mrs. Angelica’s goal to provide food, shelter, clothing, childcare, and an education to each young lady in her care.
In addition, the girls are taught a valuable skill, such as sewing. I will be visiting Kariokor to teach the girls Sustainable Sewing Workshops that will allow them to support themselves and their children.
To meet this challenge, I've set up this campaign with a goal of $5,000 to cover the cost of airfare, lodging, transportation, miscellaneous fees, as well as sewing machines and sewing supplies for the girls.
